Mishawaka Penn 11 St. Joe 9
A seven run 7th inning lifted Mishawaka Penn to an 11-9 win over St. Joe. After that seven run outburst, the Bears answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning, but the rally fell short. Michael Hunn went 2-4 at the plate with three RBIs in the loss for St. Joe. Trevor Waite drove in three runs for the Kingsmen.
Watervliet 6 Saugatuck 5 – Game 1 (9 innings)
Saugatuck 10 Watervliet 0 – Game 2
Blake Dunn and Trevor Westenbroek combines to toss a one hitter as Saugatuck defeated Watervliet in game two to earn the doubleheader split.
SOFTBALL
Watervliet 12 Saugatuck 1 – Game 1
Watervliet struck early and often as they defeated Saugatuck 12-1 in game one of their SAC doubleheader. The Panthers opened with a three run 1st inning and followed that up with a five run 2nd. Karlee Liles picked up the win, striking out six in five innings. Ariana Rowe drove in a pair of runs for Watervliet.
Watervliet 16 Saugatuck 1 – Game 2
The Panther offense picked up where it left off in game one as they defeated Saugatuck 16-1 to earn the doubleheader split. Mercede Daughtery and Kailee Cheek each drove in two runs for Watervliet. Kara Liles picked up the win in the circle. Watervliet improves to 12-3 on the season and 5-1 in the Lakeshore Division of the S.A.C.
SOCCER
Bridgman 2 Coloma 1
Bridgman defeated Coloma 2-1 in non-conference play. With the game tied at one at the half, the Beef found the net once in the 2nd half to pull out the win. Coloma’s goal came from Emma Tavolacci assisted by Kathryn Pawluk.
