GIRLS
Bball girls-ML2Buchanan 52,  Michigan Lutheran 47
Buchanan got 14 points apiece from Brook Wesner and Jayla Bibbs in a 52-47 win over Michigan Lutheran. The Bucks outscored the Titans 21-6 in the third quarter to take control of the game. Emily Witkowski led Lutheran with a game high 22 points. With the win, Buchanan improves to 4-1 on the season. Lutheran suffers its first loss and falls to 5-1.

St. Joseph 52,  Mattawan 37
St. Joseph improved to 5-1 on the season after a 52-37 win at Mattawan. Shelby Madison scored a game high 19 points to lead the Lady Bears, sophomore Anna Fischer added 16 points and 6 rebounds. Brooke Ditto led Mattawan with 13 points as the Wildcats fall to 0-5. St. Joe will host Benton Harbor Friday night.

Gobles 52,  Lake Michigan Catholic 12
A strong first half led Gobles to a 52-12 win over Lake Michigan Catholic. The Tigers scored 30 points before the break while limiting the Lakers to just four. Ellen Doyle finished with 15 points, ten assists, nine rebounds, and four blocks for Gobles. With the win, the Tigers improve to 7-0 and extend their regular season winning streak to 49 games.

Grace Christian 26,  Michigan City Christian 19
Francine Barchett turned in ten points and eight rebounds as Grace Christian defeated Michigan City Christian 26-19. Rylie Hess added nine points for the Patriots while Caroline Miota finished with eight steals.

BOYS
Mattawan 57,  St. Joseph 45
Mattawan had three players with 12 points each as they beat St. Joseph 57-45. Cam Aaberg, Gabe Pelak, and Nolan Foster each had a dozen points for the Wildcats, who took a 25-24 lead just before halftime and pulled away in the second half. Cade Shimulunas came off the bench to lead the Bears in scoring with 12 points. St. Joseph falls to 0-4 on the season, while Mattawan improves to 3-1.

New Buffalo 71,  Lake Michigan Catholic 24
New Buffalo cruised to a 71-24 win over Lake Michigan Catholic. The Bison offense was steady all night while the defense didn’t allow more than nine points in any quarter. New Buffalo had three players score in double figures, led by Travis Maddux with 19 points. Matthew Cutter led Catholic with seven points.

South Haven 70,  Watervliet 34
South Haven trailed early in the first quarter, but surged ahead and never looked back, beating Watervliet 70-34. The Rams’ DaShaan Palmer led all scorers with 15 points, while Stuart Yates notched 13 for the Panthers in the losing effort.
