Maya Hunter from First Tee – Benton Harbor, and a senior at St. Joe High School, was named one of four winners of the 2020 Wells Fargo Succeeding Together contest, which encourages First Tee participants to showcase how the core values have helped them on their personal journey to become better students, better citizens, better golfers and better prepared for life.

As one of the contest winners, Maya will receive a four-day, three-night trip for two to Charlotte, N.C. to attend the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship and experience the excitement of a PGA TOUR event from inside the ropes as an honorary observer.

“We couldn’t be more pleased that Maya has earned this amazing opportunity,” said Ebon Sanders, Executive Director. “She has always been a fantastic young person and has worked really hard to develop into an accomplished golfer. She’s a testament to what can be achieved through hard work and a role model for all First Tee – Benton Harbor participants.”

Maya has been involved with First Tee – Benton Harbor for 10 years.

First Tee is a youth development organization that helps kids and teens build their strength of character through golf. The Wells Fargo Succeeding Together contest is one of several national opportunities provided by First Tee headquarters to inspire and equip teens on a deeper level as they progress through the program and toward higher education opportunities. These events often become life-changing experiences for participants to expand their horizons, meet new people, learn more about themselves and prepare for their futures.

In 2015, Wells Fargo deepened its relationship with First Tee by becoming a national Trustee and further supporting the organization, its participants and volunteers.
