Carlos Johnson of Benton Harbor High School Basketball is the WSJM Sports Berrien County Student Athlete of the Week for the weeks of December 22, December 29, and January 6.
Carlos turned in four double-doubles in the Tigers’ five games over the three week period. In a win over Redford Union, he scored 28 points to go along with eight rebounds, three assists, three steals, and three blocked shots. The following night, he finished with 28 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots in a win over Ottawa Hills. In the Tigers’ win over St. Joe, Carlos scored 19 points and added 12 rebounds and seven assists. Against Flint Beecher, he finished with 32 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists. He ended the three week span with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists in a win over Battle Creek Central.
Carlos also volunteers with the Boys and Girls Club. In the classroom, he carries a 4.0 grade point average.
Carlos is the son of Racheal Smith and Carlos Johnson of Benton Harbor.
