Former Benton Harbor basketball star and Michigan’s Mr. Basketball in 2020, Carlos “Scooby” Johnson Jr. was found not guilty of sexual battery by a jury in Indianapolis on Thursday, according to a report by the The Indianapolis Star.

Johnson, 21, had faced felony rape and sexual battery charges when the accusations were first made against him in 2021. Johnson was no longer enrolled at Butler when the accusations were first reported.

Two rape charges against him were dropped prior to the trial, according to the report.

Johnson, 21, averaged 25 points, 11 rebounds, six blocks and three steals before the 2020 season was canceled due to COVID. He signed to play for Butler University after high school, but did not play his freshman year due to injury.
