Ryan Franco of Niles High School Wrestling is the WSJM Sports Berrien County Student Athlete of the Week for the week of December 16, 2018.
At the Eaton Rapids Duals, Ryan is the only Viking that went 5-0 on the day, winning the individual title at 119 lbs. Of his five wins, he recorded pins against his opponents from Lansing Sexton and Eaton Rapids, and earned technical fall wins against Hudson and Lakewood.
Ryan is also involved with the Niles Student Council and plans on applying for the National Honor Society in the spring. In the classroom, he carries a 3.72 grade point average.
Ryan is the son of Tony and Rayann Franco of Dowagiac.
