Berrien County Student Athlete Of The Week – Lynea Slayback

Lynea Slayback of St. Joseph High School Track is the WSJM Sports Berrien County Student Athlete of the Week for the week of April 21, 2019.

In the Bears’ dual meet against Mattawan, Lynea won the Long Jump (15’10”), 100 Meter Hurdles (:16.11), 300 Meter Hurdles (:48.60), and 100 Meter Dash (:13.22). At the Allegan Invitational, she won the 100 Meter Hurdles in a time of :15.31 and the Long Jump with a new meet record mark of 17’2”.

Lynea is also active in her church worship team. In the classroom, she carries a 3.98 grade point average.

Lynea is the daughter of Renee and David Slayback of St. Joseph.

Another finalist for the week was Celina Klimkiewicz of Watervliet Softball.
