Kennedy Byrd of Brandywine High School Softball is the WSJM 
Sports Berrien County Student Athlete of the Week for the week of May 20, 2018. In games against Bridgman, New Buffalo, River Valley, Berrien Springs, and Dowagiac, Kennedy pitched the Bobcats to four wins. She recorded 25 strikeouts during the stretch. At the plate, she turned in a .591 batting average with two doubles, a home run, and nine RBIs.
Kennedy is also a 1st Team All-Conference member of the basketball team and the French Honor Society. In the classroom, she carries a 3.89 grade point average.
Kennedy is the daughter of Pete and Lakeisha Byrd.
