Edwardsburg high school football coach Kevin Bartz announced he will be retiring at the end of this school year.  Bartz told Leader Publications that he’s not sure if he would also be retiring as a teacher at the school.   Bartz is the third most successful head coach in Southwest Michigan, only behind Denny Dock (Hartford, Dowagiac, Lakeshore) and Decatur’s Joe Groh.  Bartz led the Eddies to the Division 4 state championship in 2018.  He steps down with a record of 216-78 in his 28 seasons at Edwardsburg’s head coach.  Edwardsburg has won the Wolverine Conference Championship 10 consecutive years and has not had a losing season since 2009.  Edwardsburg is scheduled to open up the 2023 season at home against defending Division 6 State Champions Grand Rapids West Catholic on August 25.
