The St. Joseph football team will be taking an unexpected road trip to start the 2016 season. The Bears were scheduled to open up the year with a home game at Dickinson Stadium against Kalamazoo Central. St. Joe will still be the home team when the two teams meet at Michigan Stadium at the University of Michigan on August 26th at 4 PM. St. Joseph Head Coach Gandalf Church said, despite the location change, it’s still a regular football game.

“It’s going to be four quarters of football and blocking and tackling, and all those things are going to be what matter. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the Big House or in Dickinson Stadium.”

The Big House will play host to 7 games on the opening weekend of high school football in the state, with two games each on Thursday and Friday, and a triple header on Saturday.
