THURSDAY

SOFTBALL
Lakeshore 15, Benton Harbor 0 – Game 1 (3 innings)
Lakeshore defeated Benton Harbor 15-0 in game one of their SMAC West Division doubleheader. The Lancers didn’t waste any time as they opened the game with a ten run 1st inning and added five runs in the 2nd. Jamie Belt picked up the win for Lakeshore, striking out all nine batters she faced. Belt and Jackie Nate each drove in four runs for the Lancers.
Lakeshore 17, Benton Harbor 0 – Game 2 (3 innings)
The Lancer offence continued to dominate in game two as Lakeshore defeated Benton Harbor 17-0. The Lancers opened with a 14 run 1st inning. Becca Spenner drove in three runs for Lakeshore. Spenner also picked up the win in the circle, striking out eight.

River Valley 18, Brandywine 3 – Game 1
Erica Zandarski drove in six runs as River Valley topped Brandywine 18-3. The Mustangs opened the game with a 14 run 1st inning. Madi Whitlow earned the win, allowing one earned run on two hits in three innings.
River Valley 8, Brandywine 2 – Game 2
Another strong start lifted River Valley to an 8-2 win over Brandywine in game two of their doubleheader. The Mustangs plated five runs in the 1st inning. Madi Whitlow made that stand as she allowed just two earned runs on six hits in picking up the win. Nicole Gibson homered and drove in three runs for River Valley.

Decatur 16, Eau Claire 1
Decatur scored 14 runs in the first two innings on their way to a 16-1 win over Eau Claire in game one of their doubleheader. Ericka Makowski went 1-2 with a triple for the Raiders.
Decatur 18, Eau Claire 3 – Game 2
Emily Makowski went 2-2 with a home run and four RBIs as Decatur completed a doubleheader sweep of Eau Claire with an 18-3 win over the Beavers. The Raiders set the tone early as they opened the game with a 17 run 1st inning.

Buchanan 2, Dowagiac 1
Buchanan rallied for a 2-1 win over Dowagiac. The Chieftains took a 1-0 lead into the half. The Bucks then scored twice in the second half to pull it out. Erica Mitchell scored on an assist from Jenny Lewis at 26:42 with Jasmine Dougherty providing the game winning goal on a penalty kick. The win lifts Buchanan to 5-2.
