Pedro Hernandez of Bridgman High School and a member of the New Buffalo/Bridgman co-op Wrestling team is Berrien County’s Student Athlete of the Week for the week of January 31, 2016. Pedro won the 152 lb. championship at the BCS Conference Tournament. He won by technical fall in his quarterfinal match. He followed that up with a 6-3 decision in his semi-final match and a 17-14 decision in the title match.
Pedro was a Regional qualifier last year. He’s also a member of the Bridgman Football and Track teams.
Pedro is the son of Aided and Elias Hernandez of Bridgman.
Another finalist for the week was Emily Witkowski of Michigan Lutheran Basketball.
