Niles 65, Benton Harbor 61

Benton Harbor fell victim to the upset bug last night falling to Niles 65-61.  Three Vikings scored in double figures, led by Gabe Stokes’ 21 points.  The Tigers got a game high 24 points from Jaton Gunn.  The loss is Benton Harbor’s second straight to close out the regular season.  The Niles win is its first in the division this season.

Portage Northern 62, St. Joseph 47

Portage Central jumped out to an early lead and never trailed in a 62-47 win at St. Joseph to sweep the season series.  Tre Humes had a game high 18 points to lead Northern.  St. Joe who trailed 19-2 after one period was led by 14 points from Javion

 

Lakeshore 44, Portage Central 42 – OT

Jimmy Gathright tied for game high honors with 12 points as Lakeshore needed overtime to defeat Portage Central 44-42.  Lakeshore’s Logan Steffes scored 9 points, but it was his steal and basket with 6 seconds left that sent the game to the extra session.   Austin McCollough also had 12 to lead Portage Central
