Lakeshore Pulls Away For Convincing Win Over Buchanan

Lakeshore 52, Buchanan 28
Lakeshore avenged an earlier season loss to Buchanan, downing the Bucks 52-28 Saturday night at the Lancer gym.

Leading by one after the first quarter and by nine at the half, the Lancers outscored the Bucks 15-5 in the third quarter to pull away. The Lakeshore defense clamped down in the second half, allowing Buchanan just ten points after the break.

Micah Seats led Lakeshore with a game high 19 points, including 3 three pointers. JJ Bushu added 11 for the Lancers. Buchanan got 13 points from Carter Jeffries.

The win lifts Lakeshore to 10-6 on the season. With the loss, Buchanan falls to 9-8.

The Bison defense turned in a strong second half, limiting Lutheran to just 12 points.  Ryan Butler led New Buffalo with 19 points, Seth Margaritis added 18.  Nathan Brown led the Titans with nine points.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Michigan Lutheran 51,  New Buffalo 11
Aside from a strong defensive effort, Michigan Lutheran benefited from a balanced scoring attack.  Sarah Jackemeyer led the Titans with a game high 13 points.  Lutheran also got ten points from Jessi Jewell, nine from Mackenzie Zabel, and eight from Cali Laughlin.
